UPSSSC Stenographer Main Exam 2023 – Apply Online The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced the recruitment for Stenographer Main Exam 2023 under advertisement number 13/Exam/2024. The application process is entirely online for a total of 661 Stenographer positions.

UPSSSC Stenographer Main Exam 2023 – Online Application Details

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Lucknow, has issued an advertisement number 13/ Exam/ 2024 for the recruitment of Stenographers. Online applications are invited for the Stenographer Main Exam (Preliminary Eligibility Test - PET 2023)/13.

Important Details:

  • A total of 661 Stenographer posts (608 General Selection + 53 Special Selection) are being recruited by UPSSSC.
  • This recruitment is only for those candidates who have appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2023 and have obtained a valid scorecard issued by UPSSSC.
  • Shortlisting for the Stenographer Main Exam will be based on the PET score.
    Note: Candidates who have scored zero or negative marks in PET will not be shortlisted for the Main Exam.

Online Application Process:

  1. Application Instructions:

    • Candidates need to apply online through the official UPSSSC website: upsssc.gov.in.
    • To download the advertisement, visit the "Live Advertisement Segment" on the homepage of the website and click on "Apply" to view or download the details.
    • Ensure that you meet the educational qualification and other eligibility requirements for the advertised posts.
  2. Application Modification:

    • After payment of the application fee, candidates can modify their applications until 01-02-2025.
    • Modifications are limited to personal details like name, father/husband's name, gender, caste, and category.
  3. Fee Payment and Adjustment:

    • The application fee can be paid online through credit card, debit card, internet banking, UPI, or SBI e-challan.
    • After successful payment, candidates need to click on "Proceed for Final Submission" to complete their application.
    • If the fee is not adjusted, candidates can use the “Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification” option to resolve the issue.
    • The printout of the application can only be taken after the fee payment is adjusted.
  4. Application Requirements:

    • Candidates must ensure that they meet the prescribed educational and other qualifications by the last date of application (25-01-2025).
    • EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) candidates must submit a valid EWS certificate based on the 2023-24 criteria along with the application.

Selection Process:

  • The selection will be based on the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2023) score.
  • After shortlisting for the Main Exam, candidates will have to pay a separate fee for the exam, which must be paid before downloading the admit card.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus:

First Stage (Written Exam):

  • The written exam will consist of one paper with 100 objective-type questions.
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • There will be negative marking (0.25 marks for each wrong answer).

Exam Structure:

  1. General Hindi (Language Proficiency and Writing Skills)
  2. General Intelligence (Logical Reasoning)
  3. General Knowledge (Current Affairs, India, and History)
  4. Computer and Information Technology
  5. Knowledge of Uttar Pradesh

Second Stage (Shorthand and Typing Test):

  • For candidates who qualify the written exam, a shorthand and typing test will be conducted.
  • Minimum Speed for Hindi Shorthand: 80 words per minute
  • Minimum Speed for Hindi Typing: 25 words per minute

Syllabus:

  1. Part 1: Hindi Proficiency and Writing Skills

    • Focuses on knowledge of Hindi language, writing ability, and comprehension (based on the Intermediate level of UP Board).
  2. Part 2: General Intelligence

    • Measures logical reasoning, understanding of instructions, relationship identification, and reasoning based on intellectual abilities.
  3. Part 3: General Knowledge

    • Includes questions on general awareness, current affairs, historical facts, and geographical aspects, particularly related to India.
  4. Part 4: Computer and IT Concepts

    • Covers topics like computer hardware and software, internet protocols, e-mail usage, operating systems, digital tools, cyber security, and technological advancements like AI and Machine Learning.
  5. Part 5: General Knowledge of Uttar Pradesh

    • Includes questions about Uttar Pradesh’s history, culture, festivals, geography, economy, resources, and current affairs.

Negative Marking:

  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Second Stage (Shorthand and Typing Test):

  • For candidates who clear the written exam, this test will be conducted on computers/laptops.

  • Only candidates who meet the minimum speed requirements for shorthand and typing will be selected for this stage.

  • Shorthand Speed: Minimum 80 words per minute in Hindi.

  • Typing Speed: Minimum 25 words per minute in Hindi.

Final Selection:

  • The final merit list will be prepared based on the written exam scores and the shorthand and typing test performance.
